Job Description
Internal and External Sales Support:
This role requires you to assist the sales team in capturing and developing new business. Whether it be expanding on the Design reviews, onsite inspection of delivered products/evaluating any quality issues or any training that may be required to use the various software packages.
To help aid the speed of quotations through the system, you would be involved in reviewing the customer’s data to assess any potential problems that would hinder the manufacturer process and or offer improvements (panel formats etc…). To help answer any technical queries be it from the customer or the factory.
Design for Manufacture (DFM):
ALL aspects of front-end data management and manipulation of customer data (to create Data packages (Generating panel gerber data, drawings, and specification documentation), using the various types of CAM software packages (U-CAM / GC CAM Station / Genesis 2000 / CAM350).
Essentially, the role would take the customer’s design and using your experience, make this design as simple, cheap, and reliable to manufacture relating to both bare board and assembly requirements.
Generation of drawings that aid the manufacturer adhere to the design specification with references to dimensions, tolerances, and materials.
Role will involve the inspection of raw customer data with which you need to be able to identify potential manufacturing issues/problems. With your front-end engineering knowledge, you should be able to recommend the best alternative given the production facilities capabilities and limitations.
A grasp of the full manufacturing process is a must. You’ll have to use the knowledge / experience gained from previous roles within the industry, to aid you when you are generating the data packs, the quote packages or reviewing and answering technical queries.
Therefore, this role would suit an individual who has a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the title role of Front-End / CAM / Tooling Engineer!
